All vehicles must have a structural frame or equivalent structural members that provide protection for the driver in the event of a collision from any direction.

They may be constructed using a variety of materials, configurations, and construction methods, provided they provide adequate structural strength and protection.
The frame and driver protection structure must be structurally sound in the judgment of the vehicle inspector and/or race officials.
