Insurance coverage is available only for Electrathon America Sanctioned Events.
Electrathon America has secured an insurance policy that provides coverage for sanctioned events nationwide. Event hosts may purchase coverage under this policy when equivalent coverage is not available through the event venue or another source.
HOW TO OBTAIN EVENT INSURANCE #
Event hosts should begin the insurance process at least 8 weeks prior to the event date. Follow these steps:
- Learn the insurance requirements of the event venue.
- Submit the Insurance Request Form
- Once approved, submit payment for the requested coverage. Payment must be received before certificates of insurance can be issued.
- Obtain any required certificates of insurance and provide them to the venue and on the sanctioning application.
- Complete the Electrathon America event sanctioning application
- Obtain all liability waivers to be used at the race event

INSURANCE REQUIREMENTS #
- The event must be sanctioned by Electrathon America.
- A course diagram is required for parking lot, street, and other events that are not held at a standard automobile racing facility.
- Photographs of the course or facility may be requested and may be submitted by email.
- Parking lot and street events generally require positive barrier protection, such as tires or hay bales, and crowd-control fencing to keep spectators out of restricted areas and off the course.
- Events held at established racing facilities may not require a course diagram or the same level of site information. Contact the insurance agent to determine whether the facility is already known to the insurance underwriter.
- Required waiver forms must be obtained in advance of the event. A waiver is required for each person entering restricted areas, and a separate waiver is required for each minor participant or minor entering a restricted area. Each minor must have a waiver completed by the minor and their parent or legal guardian.
- All required funds must be received before certificates of insurance are issued and before the event to prevent cancellation of coverage.
ADDITIONAL INSUREDS #
Additional insureds required by the event venue should be listed on the Insurance Request Form.
The policy automatically includes certain persons and organizations as additional insureds, subject to the terms and conditions of the policy. These may include:
- Persons or organizations involved in operating, managing, sanctioning, or sponsoring the covered program, or providing the premises for the covered program, including event officials.
- Participants, excluding drivers, as well as competition vehicle owners, competition vehicle sponsors, and event officials.
- Competition drivers, but only with respect to bodily injury or property damage to persons other than another driver.
