- Tire Type: Tires must be pneumatic (inflatable) type.
- Wheel and Tire Size: Wheels and tires of any diameter or width may be used.
- Ground Clearance: The vehicle must have sufficient ground clearance to roll over a 2 × 2 inch piece of lumber milled to 1½ × 1½ inches without the vehicle contacting the ground. This requirement is intended to prevent the vehicle from sliding on the ground in the event of a tire failure.
- Driver Clearance: With the driver in the normal driving position, no part of the driver’s body may come into contact with the tires, wheels, or spokes.
