The Vehicle Design Rules are maintained by Electrathon America and enforced at all sanctioned events. They establish the minimum requirements for safe and fair competition.
Because safety is our highest priority, these requirements must be maintained throughout the entire competition. Any vehicle must be able to pass inspection at any time during an event.
Experimentation, innovation, and ingenuity are encouraged. However, all designs should support the goal of safe competition for the driver and everyone participating in the event. If you are developing a new concept that does not clearly fit within the rules, we strongly recommend contacting the Electrathon America Rules Committee before beginning construction. Doing so can help avoid completing a vehicle that may ultimately be ineligible to compete.
When in doubt, prioritize safety and ask before you build.
