FPL’s commitment helped Electrathon expand its reach in Florida, including support for new teams entering the competition.
In November 2024, FPL expanded its support to Southwest Florida, providing EV-building kits and hands-on training to students and educators from four high schools: Dunbar High School, Clewiston High School, Immokalee High School, and Port Charlotte High School.
The teams would spend the following months designing, building, testing, and refining their vehicles before taking them to the track to compete against teams from across the state.
That’s what makes an Electrathon partnership so powerful. Sponsorship creates the opportunity for someone to build something, learn something, and discover what they’re capable of doing.
A Partnership That Keeps Growing
FPL’s support is an example of what can happen when industry and competition come together.
By helping create new teams, providing hands-on training, and supporting participation in races, FPL has helped expand access to the Electrathon experience in Florida.
And that experience is bigger than any single race. It is about creating opportunities to learn, build, compete, connect with others, and explore the possibilities of electric transportation.
