In 2026, stewardship of Electrathon America was entrusted to the Bob Franz Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing STEM education and hands-on learning. The Foundation has assembled a new leadership team to build on more than three decades of Electrathon history while preserving the values that have made the program successful.
Our mission remains rooted in what has always made Electrathon special: the challenge of designing, building, and racing ultra-efficient electric vehicles. For students, it provides an extraordinary hands-on learning experience. For educators, it creates a practical way to bring engineering, technology, and problem-solving to life. For college teams, clubs, companies, and individual participants, it offers a place to experiment, compete, innovate, and push the boundaries of electric vehicle efficiency.
Our vision is ambitious: to grow Electrathon America into the nation’s premier educational and hands-on electric vehicle competition and community, expanding opportunities for participation, learning, innovation, and competition across the country.
Achieving this vision will take all of us. It will take educators who inspire the next generation, students who are willing to build and learn, college teams and clubs that bring new ideas to the track, companies and industry partners that invest in innovation and workforce development, volunteers who give their time and expertise, and individual competitors who keep the spirit of Electrathon alive.
This is a new chapter for Electrathon America, and there is an opportunity for everyone to be part of it.
